- Speak clearly--avoid slurring your words or mumbling.
- Pronounce each word, even small words like "a" and "of."
- Speak like you're talking to a real person. Keep a friend's photo by your computer to remind you.
- Use a good microphone. If you are using the microphone included with your software, and your software cost $300 or less, upgrading to a better microphone will probably improve accuracy.
- Use a good sound card. If you are using a sound card that's "integrated"--built in to the computer's motherboard--installing a separate sound card may boost accuracy.
- When the computer makes a mistake, take the time to teach it what you actually said. This will help its accuracy improve over time.
- Create voice macros or shortcuts for the ten phrases and passages you say most.
