When you first load the book, your screen should look like the picture above. The upper part of the screen contains the Say I Can logo, an advertisement, and the book's table of contents. Below it the book appears, and you can scroll though it. You can switch between chapters using the links in the upper right corner. To view the book, you must have installed Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 or higher, which is available for free at the Adobe website. Problem: I can read only the table of contents [or] I can read only through page 21. Advice: Use the links in the upper right hand corner of the screen to switch chapters. Problem: I can't print the book [or] I can print only the table of contents. Advice: These limitations are by design. The book is designed to be read on the web, and printing is disabled in all sections except the table of contents and index. As a book publisher we cannot earn money from the book unless people either buy the book or look at the advertisements on our website. For people who prefer to read the book on paper, the printed version of the Dragon NaturallySpeaking Guide may be ordered from our site or purchased at your local bookstore. Problem: The letter 'c' is missing throughout some of the chapters. Advice: This problem, which occurs on some computers, is apparently caused by a bug in Adobe Acrobat. We will be re-encoding the book to fix this problem. We expect this work to be completed by September 15th. Problem: I can't view the book at all [or] I can download the book but can't view it in my web browser. Advice: The most likely cause of this problem is that your browser is set up to download PDF files instead of automatically display them. The easiest way to fix this is to reinstall Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0. It may also be possible to fix this by tweaking settings in your browser. If reinstalling Acrobat does not work, try viewing the book in a different browser (Netscape vs. Internet Explorer). Other readers have tried these approaches with success.
